Indications

Mannitol injection is used to treat :

• Emergency intervention for raised intracranial pressure ICP, it has temporary effects only
• Raised intraocular pressure
• Promotion of diuresis in oliguric renal failure
• To promote excretion of toxic substances

Posology

The choice of the specific mannitol concentration, dosage and rate of administration depends on the age, weight, clinical and biological condition of the patient and concomitant therapy, directed by the physician.
