Indications
Treatment of Acute Malaria: Falsique is indicated for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated P. falciparum malaria for those patients in whom chloroquine resistance is suspected
Intermittent treatment of malaria in pregnant women
Posology
Oral use To be swallowed whole with water as a single dose after a meal.
Adults : 50 to 75 mg pyrimethamine and 1 to 1.5 g Sulfadoxine, i.e. 2 to 3 tablets as a single dose.
Children : Approximately 1/2 tablet for 10 kg.
from 30 to 50 kg (10 to 15 years): 1.5 to 2 tablets as a single dose.
from 20 to 30 kg (6 to 10 years): 1 to 1.5 tablets as a single dose.
from 12 to 20 kg (30 months to 6 years): 1 crushed tablet as a single dose.
under 12 kg (under 30 months): half a crushed tablet as a single dose.
If needed, treatment may be repeated respecting an 8 days interval between each dose.
