1 ampoule of 5 mL containing sodium chloride 0.9% for dilution of Chorionic gonadotrophin dried powder before injection (IM or S/C)
Indications
In females: Chorionic gonadotropin is used to help conception occur. It is usually given in combination with other drugs such as menotropins and urofollitropin, Chorionic gonadotropin is also used in vitro fertilization (IVF) programs.
In males: Selected cases of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in males or Hypogonadism secondary to a pituitary deficient in males.
Posology
In females : Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) : 5000 to 10,000 units IM once 1 day following the last dose of menotropins
In males : 500 to 1000 units IM 3 times a week for 3 weeks, then 500 to 1000 units IM 2 times a week for 3 weeks or 4000 units IM 3 times a week for 6 to 9 months, then 2000 units IM 3 times a week for 3 months
